I love a man who is foolish with his money,
Who works himself to death day in and day out,
Who wakes up late every morning,
But still has time to smile at me,
To stroke my face, and kiss my lips still numb with sleep.
When we make love, we shake the earth,
We rock the house, bring down the walls,
Set birds to flight, inspire owls to hoot and cats to yowl,
The bed we share creeks with our rhythm,
And the room perspires in the heat created
By our tightly interwoven bodies.
We are love and war, we are mars and venus,
We shatter expectations, and sound barriers,
And we cling together closely, nestled naked in our bed.
Sometimes sharing our experiences, sometimes silent,
Consistently in love.
